After three editions, in 2005 in Germany, in 2006 in Netherlands and in 2007 in Spain, it is today the Region Limousin, which organizes the fourth edition of the Silver Economy conference which will take place in Limoges January 28th and 29th 2010.

Challenge and opportunity

The ageing of the population is an inescapable fact with many consequences. If some people consider ageing as a disadvantage and a burden, the Sen@er network sided to envisage this phenomenon like a challenge and an opportunity for the regional economic growth.

For this reason, the Region Limousin and the partners of the Senaer network prepare now the society of tomorrow by envisaging the impact under all its angles :

  • economic,
  • citizenship and solidarity,
  • health and well-being.

Participants will so have the occasion to exchange with speakers working on this subject (policies, experts, contractors) and to know the orientations of the European Commission on these problems.

The interest of this conference will be to give another dimension in the phenomenon of the ageing of the population. To work from now on this subject, it is to help the todays elderly people but especially those of tomorrow.

Exchanges of experiments and good practices which will take place during this conference will allow to open new tracks and means of actions.
