The regional welcome programme for foreign trainees

Who is eligible ?

  • Foreign students, from their first year in university, whatever their age, enrolled in higher education in a partner region - or a region with a cooperation agreement with the Limousin - who would like an internship in the area and do not qualify for a mobility grant from their own country
  • Organisations in the Limousin (state-owned and private companies as well as chambers of commerce, regional and local authorities, associations and cultural organisations) that want to share their technological and linguistic expertise, set up business contacts, boost their image and global culture by assigning one of their projects to a foreign trainee as part of the programme

List of partner regions or regions with a cooperation agreement with the Limousin :

  • Nabeul Governorate (Tunisia)
  • Oubritenga Province (Burkina Faso)
  • Kaluga Region (Russia)
  • Pomerania Voivodeship (Poland)
  • Mid-Franconia and Bavaria (Germany)
  • Staffordshire and the West Midlands (United Kingdom)
  • Ravenna Province and Emilia-Romagna (Italy)
  • Bacau and neighbouring Targu-Neamt, Satu Mare, Baia Mare, Salaj, Bihor and Dambovita (Romania)
  • Andalusia Region (Spain)

Length of internship :

  • An internship lasts at least 1 month
  • There is no maximum length for an internship.

Internship funding :

  • The funding lasts for a maximum of 3 months’ internship
  • The grant given is €500 a month for a maximum of three months even if the internship lasts longer.

What we offer

For students

  • Organisation prior to arrival :
    • finding an internship
    • undertaking various administrative formalities (internship agreement, etc.)
    • finding and booking accommodation
    • greeting upon arrival at the train station or the airport...
  • During the internship :
    • ensuring the internship goes smoothly (visits to the host organisation, phone calls, emails, etc.)
    • answering practical questions (about transport, accommodation funding through the CAF, etc.)
    • introducing other trainees
    • funding cultural outings on some weekends for students taking part in the programme and fresh graduates from the Eurodyssey Programme
    • end of internship visit to the host organisation

For host organisations :

  • help setting up the internship and fi nding an appropriate candidate
  • publicising the internship position available in participating regions and countries
  • pre-selecting and forwarding applications
  • making contact with the chosen trainee(s)
  • planning the trainee’s arrival at the host organisation
  • regular check-ups to ensure the internship is going smoothly
